About Us We are Ed & Carol Brown, the owners of Southside Marine & Auto, LLC. A passion for water skiing brought us to Clarksville several years ago. After several years of vacationing here and falling in love with the area, we made the move from Vermont in 2003. We have been involved in water sports for many years, including competitive water skiing. Our children spent most of their summer weekends at the lake often bringing several friends along. It is always exciting to introduce new people to skiing, knee boarding, and all the joys of being on the lake. Ed has more than 30 years experience as an automotive technician, with an extensive background in electronics. Even with Vermont's short summer season, he also provided service and repair for many clients with boats. Carol's area of expertise is in the office, greeting customers, preparing work orders, ordering parts, and handling the bookkeeping. Our dream was to create business that combined our love of water sports and our talents and experience into a marine service and repair business. We sold our house and business in Vermont and headed to a warmer climate. The first year we were here was spent building our house and getting ready to establish our business. In February of 2004 Ed and a couple of friends ( Steve and Chris ) began the construction of Southside Marine & Auto's building. We officially opened the doors for business on May 1, 2004. The first year was a busy one and the business continues to grow. We have added a line of marine accessories, parts and water sports toys that we hope will keep our customers on the water and having fun.
