Islamic Ahlul Bayt Association of the Triangle
The Islamic Ahlul Bayt Association of the Triangle (IABAT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the Shia Ithna Ashari Muslim community in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Established in 1999, IABAT focuses on promoting the religious beliefs and practices of the Jafari Ithna Ashari sect of Islam through various educational and community activities.
With a diverse membership representing over 62 nationalities, IABAT hosts a range of services, including a weekend Islamic school and burial services. The organization is currently engaged in a building project aimed at establishing the first Shia Ithna Ashari Muslim center in North Carolina.
