About Holland Holland Transportation Management Services, Inc. ( Holland TMS ) is a full-service Transportation Service Provider that can trace its roots back over 100 years to Holland Transfer Company, which began serving the Statesville, NC area in 1907. S. R. Holland started Holland Transfer Company in 1907 with a team of horses and a drayage wagon. He joined his brother, W. R. Holland in 1912 and formed Holland Brothers, which grew to seven horses and wagons until 1915 when the first trucks became available. The company hauled primarily coal, wood, and cotton. In 1941 Holland Transfer and Storage was organized by W. R. Holland and his son R. B. Holland, Sr. The company was located at 916 Salisbury Road, NC of Statesville, about 3 miles from Holland Transfer's current location. In 1986, then owners R. B. Holland and C. L. Poole built a 90, 000 square foot Warehouse and Distribution Center at the current location at 2088 Salisbury Highway ( Old Highway 70 ) in Statesville, NC. The current office, cross dock and tractor-trailer shop were added in 1988. Although Holland Transfer Company had brokerage authority for many years, it wasn't until 2002 that current owner Jeff Harvey "spun off" the brokerage operation as a separate company. This operation grew steadily and was incorporated in December of 2004 as Holland Transportation Management Services, Inc., or Holland TMS for short. Holland TMS has grown exponentially 731.8% between 2002 and 2006.
