The 1767 Chowan County Courthouse is often referred to as one of the finest examples of Georgian Colonial architecture. A North Carolina State Historic Site, you can visit the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse from Tue-Sat and take a guided tour to learn about it's history. The Courthouse is run by Historic Edenton State Historic Site, located at 108 N. Broad Street.

Tons of history in this building! Very cool to stand on original stone floors that were imported from Britain. It's still an active courtroom and we learned that the NC Supreme Court holds court...
