High Point Central High School

Established in 1931, High Point Central High School is a comprehensive public school with an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students in grades 9 through 12. It offers advanced placement courses; an international baccalaureate degree program, which is a two-year program of study undertaken at the 11th and 12th grades; and a magnet program with a focus on international studies and foreign languages. The school maintains a media center, cafeteria, and various cultural fairs, clubs and art galleries. It also has a parent-teacher organization that promotes the welfare of children and youth in home, school and community and fosters growth and development of the education program. The school maintains a career center that assists students in college and future career planning and provides information about scholarship applications, college entrance requirements and armed services. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is affiliated with Guilford County Schools. It also provides transportation services.
