We knew that when we moved up to Mars Hill we wanted to take what we had been doing in Durham, NC and continue on our farm.SpecialtiesWe are a small family farm who believe in teaching a respect and love for the natural world through exploration in the outdoors. Through our Farm School and Summer Camp programs we aim to connect children to the natural world by being totally immersed in nature. Our programs also allow children to learn about where their food comes from and about raising farm animals. We integrate, art, nature, games, freedom, and exploration to build a strong base for a child's growth in and appreciation of the world around them. Our Farm School Program is a preschool program based on the Forest School programs in northern Europe, with the integration of farming too. Our summer camp is focused on a total immersion in the natural world, with a strong emphasis on hands-on exploration.
