Head Start Center

Family Services has been serving the families in Forsyth, Stokes and Davie counties in North Carolina for more than 100 years. The organization assists nearly 2,000 individuals and families by providing a wide range of programs to strengthen families through programs and services that include Head Start, adoption services, pregnancy counseling, violence response, Contact HOPElines and Ways to Work. Family Services is a private nonprofit organization and the primary provider of Head Start services to children and families in Forsyth County. It is also the primary provider of domestic violence programs in the county, which includes a shelter for women and their children. Family Services is funded by a variety of sources, including area United Ways; federal, state and county government; client fees; foundation grants; and contributions from individuals, churches and other organizations. Family Services is based in Winston Salem, N.C.
