Haywood County Parks & Recreation

Established in 2000, the Waynesville Recreation Center is a more than 60,000-square-foot facility that offers a range of entertainment services. It features a water playground, swimming pool, gymnasium, child care center, cardiovascular area, and game and weight rooms. The center additionally has meeting rooms, indoor and outdoor tracks, and basketball and racquetball courts. It provides a variety of recreational programs for youths, adults and senior citizens. The center offers belly dance, aerobics, body balance, yoga, step and stretch classes. It also provides massage therapy, membership referral and child care programs. The center offers room rental services for various occasions, such as business meetings, private parties, bridal showers and family reunions. The Waynesville Recreation Center is operated by the Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department, which manages over five parks and nearly two recreation centers.
