Harvest Time Foods, located in Ayden, N.C., is a family-owned business that offers frozen, ready-to-cook foods. The company began operations in 1981, marketing packaged, frozen dough strips under the brand of Anne's Pastry. The frozen, thin flat dumpling strips are used in chicken and other recipes, and the company s chicken base makes gravies, soups and can be used for seasoning vegetables. This dough product is the main component in a regional dish cooked in eastern North Carolina. New recipes have been added, for dishes such as lasagna, casseroles, ravioli, baked crackers and fried sugared pastry. Harvest Time Foods also manufactures various varieties of dumplings for restaurants, schools, hospitals and daycare centers.
