Goldsboro-Wayne County Visitors Center
Old Waynesborough Park is situated on the historic site of the original town of Waynesborough, which served as the county seat of Wayne County from 1787 to 1847. The park features a village comprised of nine historic buildings, including a school, a lawyer's office, and a Quaker meeting house, all dating from the 1860s to the 1920s.
In addition to its village, the park encompasses over 150 acres along the Neuse and Little Rivers, offering more than four miles of walking trails through diverse landscapes, including forests and cypress swamps. The Hamilton Civil War Collection, housed within the park, showcases an extensive array of authentic artifacts from the Civil War, including rifles, handguns, and personal items used by soldiers from both the Union and Confederate forces.
