Gaston County Victim/Witness
The Gaston County Police Department, established in 1957, serves a community of approximately 81,000 residents across over 270 square miles, including both unincorporated areas and the towns of High Shoals and Spencer Mountain. With a dedicated team of over 150 sworn officers and more than 100 civilian staff, the department focuses on community policing, investigations, and animal care enforcement.
Under the leadership of Chief Stephen Zill, the department has grown in capability and efficiency, achieving international accreditation in 1991. Its various divisions, including Community Policing, Investigations, and Communications, work collaboratively to enhance public safety and address community concerns.
