History

It was a rather rocky beginning when our firm started over 32 years ago. We were unsure if Distinctive Properties would soon become Extinctive Properties, so for several years we worked out of our home in Trinity Park. In 1983, we moved to our renovated 1935 office at 605 Jackson Street. Our focus was Durham's established neighborhoods. Since then, we've expanded our market to include unique homes throughout Durham, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. Over the years, real estate has changed. Some firms have disappeared and others have merged. The trend is toward mega-corporate firms with hundreds of agents whose listings are identified by a corporate number. That's not our style. We don't believe that bigger is necessarily better. We are here to assist you in making a major economic and personal decision -- the buying and/or selling of your home. We know the market and we're good at what we do.
