Dare County Health Department

The Dare County Department of Public Health offers a range of preventive care and clinical monitoring services for citizens and visitors of Dare County in North Carolina. It works to promote good health through community awareness and education programs, as well as minimizing the occurrence of illnesses and deaths due to diseases, infections and related health conditions. The department also provides a variety of dental care services, including general examination, cleaning, fluoride treatment, X-ray evaluation, silver and white filling, and the removal of infected and unrestorable teeth. It offers skilled nursing, hospice care, bereavement support and medical social work services, as well as physical, occupational, speech and nutrition therapies through Dare Home Health and Hospice, a nonprofit organization. The Dare County Department of Public Health is administered by the government of Dare County.
