Just a 5.4 mile 40 min stretch is all. If you time it right where the wait is not long it's pretty fun. The ferry operates from Currituck NC to Knott's Island NC. The trip is on North Carolina...

I've been over the Currituck Sound on this ferry a number of times over the years. It's a nice leisure ride and takes about an hour. It's also free. Unfortunately when I was down on Knotts Island...
