History

After moving to Wilmington, one of the owners who suffered from plantar fasciitis, discovered there were no stores shoes in the area that specialized in footwear to fit her needs. In 1998 the first Comfortable Soles location was opened. Locally owned and operated, Comfortable Soles began as one Birkenstock store in mid-town Wilmington. However over time, the store evolved into an all around comfort shoe store where men and women can find comfortable, fashionable styles from brands like Birkenstock, Dansko and Naot; just to name a few. Today there are three Comfortable Soles locations in North and South Carolina.

Comfortable Soles specializes in comfort footwear for men and women of all ages. We strive to keep up with the latest fashion trends while always keeping comfort at the forefront of the products we carry.

I LOVE this shoe store! So many international brands and such unique shoes. I think I've bought 8-10 pairs over the years and I am not a shoe fanatic except at this store. Well worth a visit!
