College of the Albemarle

The College Of The Albemarle, also known as COA, awards associate s degrees in a variety of academic fields to more than 2,400 students. Founded in 1961, its programs include engineering technologies, marine sciences, criminal justice, elementary education, fine arts, medical assistance, science phlebotomy, business administration and early childhood education. The college administers a practical nursing program that is approved by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The College Of The Albemarle s business administration curriculum includes classes in accounting, business law, economics, management and marketing, as well as communication, team building and decision making skills training. The College operates a library that provides materials, resources, services and instructions to meet the scholarly and informational needs of the college community. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The College Of The Albemarle maintains a location in Manteo, N.C.
