Cherokee County Social Services

The Cherokee County Department of Social Services provides with federal and state mandated human services to the residents of Cherokee County in North Carolina. It offers child protective services that include investigation of the reports of abuse, neglect and dependency of children up to the age of 18. The department also provides foster care services to families with children who face abuse, neglect and dependency. The Cherokee County Department of Social Services offers placement services, as well as provides monetary assistance to eligible low-income families with children and assists them in offering shelter, clothing and basic living needs. It has various fraud investigators who receive and investigate the reports of families and individuals and pursues recoupment of benefits given inappropriately to clients by repayment and legal actions.
