The Carolina Thread Trail is a comprehensive regional network of connected greenways, trails, and blueways, spanning 15 counties across two states and serving a population of 2.9 million individuals. With over 425 miles of trails and 170 miles of blueways, the initiative aims to preserve natural areas while providing recreational, transportation, and conservation benefits to communities of all backgrounds.
Led by the Catawba Lands Conservancy, the Carolina Thread Trail fosters a legacy of conservation and connectivity, encouraging outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and paddling. By engaging local residents and volunteers, the organization strives to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities and strengthen community ties.

This is the best trail in the union county area. so many unmarked trails to explore. We swung on vines, walked the bridge, and even found a hut made out of sticks in the wood. truly a treasure.
