I started my career as an operating room nurse and enjoyed that role for eight years before deciding to advance my career and earned master's degree and become a family nurse practitioner. My years in the OR are useful as I educate patients on their surgical options and help them understand which might be best for them. Surgical advancements are always evolving - and they always amaze me. I still enjoy being part of a surgical team, and I especially love seeing the improvements patients make after surgical intervention.
