Campus Partners

Campus Partners provides billing, accounting and data processing services for Federal Perkins and institutional loans issued by more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The company was established in 1964 as Wachovia Services, a division of Wachovia Bank, and began servicing student loans in 1965. Among its first customers were Winston-Salem State University and Salem College. Campus Partners is owned by JPT Partners, which purchased the former AMS Servicing Group from Sallie Mae, in January 2004. Principals in JPT Partners, based in Rockville, Md., include Michael Carey, Paul Carey and Thomas Green. The owners each have more than 20 years of senior management experience in the student loan industry. Campus Partners is headquartered in Winston Salem, N.C.
