Oil on Canvas "View of Asheville, North Carolina, 1850" by Robert Scott Duncanson was sold on behalf of a descendant of the original owner, May 31, 2003 for $320, 000, a record price for any work by the artist. The painting now hangs in the Greenville, South Carolina Museum of Art Brunk Auctions has grown since 1983 from a small regional auction house to a national auction service with an international clientele. We have a reputation for integrity and professionalism, and can provide references on request from past consignors, including estate attorneys, executors, museums, and private consignors. We are based in Asheville, North Carolina and our 26, 000 sq. ft. facility includes a multimedia auction gallery, three exhibition galleries and photography studios. We have 18 full time staff, including specialists in many fields of the fine and decorative arts as well as collectibles, ephemera and jewelry.
