Built in 1921, the Blue Ridge Boutique Hotel is 16 rooms housed in the former Spruce Pine Elementary School building. It sits alongside the Toe River and is connected by a foot bridge to downtown Spruce Pine. The hotel is operated by the non-profit: Mayland Community College Enterprise Corporation and is run by students attending the college, all of whom are more than happy to tell you about their school experience, career aspirations, and provide insight into local amenities.

2 night stay, great room-spacious. Very comfortable bed. Super clean. Nice staff. 4 stars only because parking is a bit wonky, and they are under construction but when done, I'm sure all will be...

Pretty basic and run on the cheap, but priced up there with the better motels in the area, student help, lack of professional management.
