Planned Giving offers an individual the opportunity of making a charitable contribution to the North Carolina Lions Foundation and receive a charitable tax deduction. Your gift will benefit the thousands of visually impaired individuals served by the North Carolina Lions Foundation. Whether it is a White Cane, a week at Camp Dogwood, an eye exam, new glasses, or surgery; thousands of individuals benefit from the programs and services provided through the Foundation. By directing your gift into one of four endowment funds you can ensure that your gift will provide lasting benefits to the visually impaired. SERVICE ENDOWMENT Each year thousands of lives are touched by the programs and services offered through the North Carolina Lions Foundation. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided white canes, free of charge, to the visually impaired in North Carolina. Educational grants are provided to sighted students of visually impaired parents. Radio Reading Service, production of Braille and large print materials, Independent Living training and the VIP Fishing Tournament are a few of the programs and services supported by the Foundation. The See the 21st Century Vision Van provides free vision screenings in communities across North Carolina. Your support of this endowment will ensure that these will continue in the future. The NCLF is proud that only seven percent of its budget goes to pay necessary administrative costs. Our goal is that our entire operating budget goes to programs and services. This will be realized when our administrative endowment will generate enough interest to pay all administrative costs.
