Benson Middle School

Benson Middle School offers academic classes to students in grades five through eight. The school offers the Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R) program that enhances the reading skills of students. Located in Benson, N.C., the school provides classes in computer technology, physical education, language arts, math, science, social studies and English. Benson Middle School has a media center that provides access to the Internet and various resources and study materials. The school offers special summer programs and has a parent-teacher organization that organizes donation programs for underprivileged children. Benson Middle School offers a range of sports activities, such as basketball, football, softball, soccer, tennis, track and field and cheerleading. The school is a part of the Johnston County School District, which also governs other elementary, middle and high schools.
