Shutter Shack Photography is a full-service Fine Art Portrait Studio specializing in Children's Portraiture, Family Portraiture and Special Event Photography. Our Studio is located in Beaverdam Valley north of Asheville, North Carolina for 37 years. In our warm and friendly environment, we are able to create the loveliest images imaginable. You can have your portrait made in the studio, outdoors, or even on location at your home or favorite family place. Our studio prides itself on being versatile and creative. As a portrait studio we strive to bring together our love of photography with an artistic ability to create an image that you will cherish decades from now. Continuing education is an important part of our growth as we attend the various workshops and summer school of Professional Photographers of NC, and Professional Photographers of America. About our Photographers Sherry Coffey--Sherry started the Shutter Shack Studio in 1972, and as a progressive photographer she is an active member of three national photography organizations. Sherry has had the opportunity to study under Master Photographers such as Joe Crowder, Bambi Cantrell, Jay Stock, Jack Holowitz, Joyce Wilson Holt, Doug Box, Sher Carroll. Sherry's inspiration has led her to focus on a creative, contemporary style of photography. Mardy Murphy--Mardy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, with a focus in Black and White photography from UNC-Asheville. She joined her sister at Shutter Shack Photography in 1992. Since that time, she has her own uniquely sensitive style. Her images are richly storytelling and bring a deeper sense of spirit to the studio. As an active member of PPNC Mardy continues her photography education by attending various photography courses. Christy Fergusson--first brought her talents to Shutter Shack Photography in 2002 through our work-study internship program. In 2002 she received her Associate's Degree in Business from Mayland Community College and currently serves as the studio production manager and portrait assistant.
