Arts and Science Council

Arts & Science Council, also known as ASC, is a nonprofit organization that serves and supports the cultural community of Charlotte and Mecklenburg counties in North Carolina. Founded in 1958, the council combines resources from the local, state and federal governments and supports cultural organizations, educational programs and individual artists throughout the region. It also supports community-based projects that involve art, science, history and heritage. Additionally, the organization participates in strategic planning with the community and key stakeholders in order to produce cultural plans. Arts & Science Council also organizes educational seminars and workshops. Its public arts program enhances neighborhood identity and strengthens economic development and tourism. Arts & Science Council is located in Charlotte, N.C.
