Anna Johnson, MD

Dr. Joel Beck is a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience and training in burn and reconstructive surgeries. He has since focused his attention on plastic surgery. At his offices in Matthews, North Carolina he treats patients from all walks of life to help them reach their cosmetic goals. He is specifically known for his breast augmentation and Brazilian butt lift procedures where he has shown his ability to translate a patients desires in to reality. As a result of this, transgender patients have sought him out for their confirmation surgeries, especially Top surgery and facial feminization. Both of my parents were in the medical field, so it was always familiar to me. However, it was traveling away from home that made me realize I wanted to choose medicine as a career. My experiences on multiple medical mission trips inspired me to continue to care for the health of people in my own community. \n I am very fortunate to get to connect with and support others around me. Listening intently to my patients helps me understand and address each patient's unique concerns. Kindness also goes far when providing any necessary care and ensures that care stays patient-centered. \n When I am not working, you can often find me staying active outdoors. My faith is very important to me, as are my family and friends. I spend as much time as possible investing in their lives.

Some college classes are forgettable; others stick with you forever. For me, it was a genetics course that captured my interest and ultimately influenced my career path. I loved understanding how our genes make each of us who we are and how they can influence our health. Getting an overview of genetics in that class inspired me to pursue cancer research, attend medical school and eventually specialize in cancer surgery. \n Just like our genes are all unique, I know every persons health is as well. I treat each patient as I want to be treated. That starts with actively listening to their concerns. It continues with carefully considering and explaining their treatment options so they can make well-informed decisions about their health. I value patient feedback as well as feedback from other providers. I am proud to have been recognized by my peers as one of Charlottes top surgical specialists. \n Outside of work, family time is my top priority. My wife and I have two sons. Together, we love learning about other cultures and traveling whenever we get a chance.
