Hendersonville Veterinary Hospital is a full-service, small animal hospital located in Hendersonville, NC. Our professional and courteous staff provides the best possible medical, surgical and dental care for our patients. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for our clients. Last September our hospital celebrated its 50th anniversary with a drop-in reception. It was our way of saying thank you to our friends and clients. Our hospital was established by Dr. H. A. Justus and was originally located on Spartanburg Highway when it was still a gravel road. It moved to its current location in the 1960's. In 1990, Dr. Zehr moved to Hendersonville and became an Associate with Dr. Justus. In 1994, Dr. Zehr purchased the hospital and began systematically upgrading and expanding our medical capabilities. In the late 1990's we enlarged the reception area and added additional exam rooms, initiated a program of staff expansion and training, and added video endoscopy. Over the last 10 years we have upgraded our x-ray equipment, added a laser surgicial unit, received American Hospital Association accreditation, added state of the art dental equipment and a digital dental x-ray unit. Our in-house laboratory now includes Heska handheld and bench top serum chemical analyzers, a fecal centrifuge, EKG and blood pressure machines. In 2007, Dr. Zehr completed additional training in endodontics and now performs root canals and other tooth saving procedures. Our future plans are to add inroom "virtual pet" display software to help explain complicated health conditions and procedures. We understand how important your pets are to your family and we appreciate the trust you place on us. Our hospital has developed a Code of Professional Conduct based on honesty, integrity and compassion. All our staff commits to this code. We know this, and our commitment our clients and patients, will carry HVH into the future.
