Alexis Hawbaker Meyers, PT, DPT

I serve as a vestibular physical therapist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a native of Saratoga Springs, New York, I have served in a variety of clinical settings in Colorado, North Carolina, and Florida focusing on acute and subacute neurological impairments, and I am primarily passionate about vestibular rehabilitation and craniofacial pain. At UNC, I participate in the long-COVID multidisciplinary team and I have worked most recently to develop the vestibular rehab portion of UNC’s Transforming Health and Resilience in Veterans (THRIVE) Program, a multidisciplinary team for veterans suffering from mild traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).

Pediatric physical therapy allows me to work with children to access their world with greater confidence. I am passionate about working with children and their families in gaining skills to assist them in engaging and participating fully in life. I strive to create an environment for kids that focuses on respect, self-empowerment and fun. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of the journey. Outside of work, I enjoy adventuring outdoors with my family and working on my green thumb.

I became a physical therapist due to my love for movement. I love sports, hiking, walking, running, weightlifting, yoga, and everything in between. My philosophy is that every patient deserves individualized and personalized care to help them truly be their best selves.
