The Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE) is an organization of institutional economists with members from around the world, including the United States, Canada, Latin America, Western Europe, and Asia. AFEE sponsors the publication of the quarterly Journal of Economic Issues (JEI), which serves as the primary international outlet for scholarly articles rooted in original institutional economics. The JEI welcomes papers that apply institutional analysis to current economic issues and offers a broad range of topics, including public policy, economic development, environmental concerns, education policy, labor relations, and more.

Institutional economics, with its focus on the evolution of institutional processes in providing the material means of life, traces its roots back to influential thinkers such as Thorstein B. Veblen, John R. Commons, and Wesley C. Mitchell. AFEE aims to advance institutional theory and methodology through interdisciplinary work and encourages contributions that enhance our understanding of political economy. The association holds an annual meeting in conjunction with the Allied Social Science meetings, where papers presented are featured in the June issue of the JEI. For more information about AFEE and its activities, please contact the AFEE Coordinator, Teresa Rowell.
