Yonkers Community Action Program

Established in 1963, Abbott House is a human services agency that serves more than 1,200 children and adults each year. The agency is spread over an area of 15 acres. Its day habilitation centers offer various training programs for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. Abbott House provides case management, crisis intervention, and behavior modification and planning services. The agency also offers adoption and therapeutic foster care programs. In addition, it provides psychiatric and psychological assessment solutions. Abbott House offers in-house training programs for the development of various independent living skills. The agency operates a residential treatment center for the victims of sexually abuse.

Founded in 1970, Harlem Children's Zone is a nonprofit, community-based organization that works to enhance the quality of life for children and families in New York City. Formerly known as Rheedlen Centers for Children and Families, the organization operates more than 15 centers that serve over 13,000 children and adults, including nearly 10,000 at-risk children. The Renaissance University for Community Education, a youth development program, serves more than 200 adolescents, fosters academic growth and career readiness through the innovative use of the arts, media literacy, health and multimedia technology. Harlem Children's Zone s other programs include Asthma Initiative, Shaping Minds Around Reading and Technology, and Community Pride. It is based in New York City.
