Yi-Ju Chen, MD

Dr. Tarah Pua is a Gynecologic Oncologist in the Cancer Center of NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital. Dr. Pua graduated summa cum laude from Barnard College with a B.A. in Biochemistry and went on to complete her medical degree at NYU School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship in Integrative Medicine. She is interested in complementary therapies as an adjunct to cancer treatment.Dr. Pua earned the American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award for excellence in minimally invasive procedures in her chief year and the Barton Memorial award for service to the department in research and patient care. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology and a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation. Dr. Pua interests include chemotherapy trials and targeted therapies for gynecologic malignancies.

Pierre F. Saldinger, MD, FACS is the Senior Vice President of Perioperative Services at NewYork-Presbyterian. and Attending physician at NewYork- Presbyterian Queens. He is also a professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Saldingerjoins NYP from NewYork-Presbyterian Queens where he serves as Chairman of the Department ofSurgery and Surgeon-in-Chief. He is also the Director of the NewYork-Presbyterian surgicalquality and safety program and a Professor of Clinical Surgery atWeill Cornell Medical College. A distinguishedand well-published surgeon, he has extensive expertisein the surgical treatment of cancer and benign disorders of the pancreas,liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and surgical quality improvement. He studied medicine at theUniversity of Basel School of Medicine Switzerland, earned his medicaldegree from Switzerland’s University of Bern School of Medicineand a Master of Health Administration from the Mailman School ofPublic Health – Columbia University. He completed his residency inGeneral Surgery at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and clinical fellowship in hepatobiliarysurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Saldinger is a fellow of theAmerican College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of University Surgeons,the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Society of Surgical Chairsamongst others. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journalof Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Jian Zheng, MD, is a surgical oncologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens and an assistant professor of clinical surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. An award-winning surgeon, Dr. Zheng was the recipient of Grant V. Rodkey Award for her scholarship, humanism, leadership, and technical excellence during her chief residency. She was awarded by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with the Chairman's Award for Excellence in Clinical Research. Dr. Zheng has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in surgical oncology in many leading journals, including Annals of Surgical Oncology, Annals of Surgery, and Journal of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of several organizations, including the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American College of Surgeons, and the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. After graduating from Duke University, Dr. Zheng earned her medical degree from University of South Florida, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Zheng served her internship and residency in general surgery at Boston University Medical Center, where she was elected to be the administrative chief resident. During residency, she also pursued hepatopancreatobiliary surgery research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Zheng then completed a complex general surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she also served as the administrative chief fellow. Dr. Zheng is a board-certified surgeon by the American Board of Surgery. Her clinical practice includes patients with gastric, hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic cancers, and her interest includes the use of minimally invasive and robotic
