Seido Karate, established in New York City in 1976 by grand master Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, offers traditional Japanese martial arts training to all. Emphasizing physical and mental strength, students engage in foundational exercises, kata, self-defense, sparring, and meditation to cultivate discipline and resilience that extend beyond the dojo.
Grand master Nakamura, a 9th degree black belt, brought Seido to life with core tenets of respect, love, and obedience. Inclusive and adaptive, the academy welcomes individuals of diverse ages, gender identities, and abilities, providing a secure environment for training. More then a karate school it's spiritual center as well place to learn and grow mind body and spirt all the staff and students are caring people. Thank goodness I found Seido.
