WNED is a member-supported public broadcasting company that serves more than 3 million households throughout western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania, as well as southern Ontario in Canada. It operates various radio and television stations that air a variety of entertainment and educational programs. The company s television channels include WNED-TV, Channel 17 and Cable Channel 3. It also maintains WNED-HD, which is a 24-hour, high-definition television broadcast service. WNED s ThinkBright TV channel broadcasts 24-hour learning programs and is available in digital channel 17.3 and Time Warner channel 21in Erie, Niagara and Chautauqua counties in New York. Additionally, WNED airs classical music programs through Classical 94.5/WNED-FM Buffalo and 87.9 WNJA-FM Jamestown. In addition, the company is engaged in the research, design and implementation of multimedia outreach campaigns that address various social issues.
