Heckscher State Park

Heckscher State Park is a dog-friendly recreational venue that serves nearly 1 million visitors every year. Its amenities include more than 65 campsites, as well as over 15 miles of trails for hikers and bicycle and cross-country skiers. The park maintains a swimming pool complex, boat launch ramp, picnic areas and playing fields. It organizes various recreational activities, such as fishing and nature trails. Heckscher State Park also features a beach, pavilions, dumping stations and showers. It is a part of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
