Hiking: Westmoreland Sanctuary is a 640-acre nature preserve with 7.5 miles of hiking trails. Our preserve and Nature Center are free and open to the public 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our Nature Center has live animals, educational exhibits, and two public restrooms. Education: We offer a variety of outdoor environmental education programs for all ages. Our programs take place all-year-round and cultivate an enthusiastic love of nature. Our hands-on curricula for children and young adults incorporates the Next Generation Science Standards, the cornerstone of New York and Connecticut science education. Conservation: We are stewards of our land. We enhance, restore, and prevent degradation of our native ecosystems. Our work is made possible through our dedicated volunteers and interns, headed by our professional staff.
