History

We have consistently been recognized as one of the leading vein care centers in the world. The practice is a part of the Weill Cornell Medicine and their physicians are all full time faculty in the College and at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. The founder, Dr. Robert Min, developed the practice based on the premise that the best results for patients come from the use of cutting edge technology coupled with personalized care. Endovenous Laser Ablation (also known as EVLT and ELA) of the saphenous vein was developed by Dr.Min and his colleagues in the late 1990s. As a result, Weill Cornell Vein Treatment Center has the longest experience using this technique in the world. Drs. Neil Khilnani, Ronald Winokur and Lisa Amatangelo are committed to personalized care and are known for outstanding clinical results and patient satisfaction. Where you go first for your care has a significant impact on the outcome of your condition.

Specialties

We provide comprehensive minimally invasive care for patients with the full spectrum of vein related problems. Our specialties include: - Treatment and evaluation of varicose and spider veins - Endovenous Laser Ablation of saphenous veins - Non-Tumescent, Non-Thermal Venous Ablation (Venaseal, Clarivein, Varithena) - Ambulatory Phlebectomy - Injection sclerotherapy for spider veins - Cosmetic treatments: Botox, hand and facial fillers Dr. Min performed the original investigations with EVLT and he and his Weill Cornell colleagues published the first large patient series in the medical literature. Dr. Min advocated for the procedure internationally. His efforts were responsible for its approval by the FDA and for reimbursement coverage by Medicare and by private insurers. EVLT is widely accepted by patients and physicians worldwide and has replaced more invasive surgical procedures to treat the saphenous vein. Drs. Khilnani, Winokur and Amatangelo have continued Dr. Min's tradition of exceptional vein care. Dr. Khilnani is frequently invited as a speaker at national and international conferences and maintains leadership roles in the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Winokur is also involved in advancing venous care with the publication of several articles and presentations at national meetings. Dr. Amatangelo is joining us from the University of Michigan Vein Centers where she was a Clinical Lecturer in Vascular Surgery and Co-Director from 2007 to 2017.

Called to make an appointment and the person who answered was so rude, impatient and gruff. Hope the docs are better.
