Marc Schiffman, M.D.
Dr. Marc H. Schiffman is Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus. He is a member of the Division of Interventional Radiology and performs a wide array of interventional radiology procedures.Dr. Schiffman earned his B.S. degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1997. He was awarded his M.D. degree, in 2003 from the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. He received a commendation for top clinical performance and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.After a year (2003-2004) as an intern New York Hospital-Queens in Flushing, NY, Dr. Schiffman completed his radiology residency training (2004-2008) in Diagnostic Radiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY. This was followed by a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology, also at Mount Sinai, from 2008 to 2009.Dr. Schiffman achieved Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology in 2008. Dr. Schiffman was then recruited to the full-time faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College-NYPH in July 2009. He has performed the first adrenal radiofrequency ablation, liver, kidney and bone microwave ablations, balloon retrograde transvenous variceal obliteration, and laparoscopic renal cancer cryosurgery at New York Hospital. He has successfully completed the world's first pediatric percutaneous construction of an absent Inferior Vena Cava. Dr. Schiffman has been invited to speak about renal cancer cryosurgery, uterine fibroid and varicocele embolization at National and International medical conferences. He is currently the Executive Co-Director of the Weill Cornell Medicine Fibroid and Adenomyosis Program and is the only physician in the Tri-state region performing noninvasive MR-guided focused ultrasound surgery for uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. Trisha Youn, M.D. is a board-certified radiologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine. She is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus.Dr. Youn earned her B.S., with honors, in Human Biology Health and Society from Cornell University in 2001. She was awarded her M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine in 2007. After graduating Cornell University, she was a research assistant in a neuroscience laboratory at Columbia University (2001 to 2003).Dr. Youn did a transitional year in internal medicine at New York Hospital Queens in Flushing, NY before completing a residency in diagnostic radiology (2008-2012) at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Aida Saliby, M.D.
Dr Saliby started her medical studies at The Lebanese University then The American University of Beirut. She then pursued a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine where she focused her research on familial thyroid cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She also trained in Internal Medicine at UT-Houston Medical Center and at Weill Cornell-New York Presbyterian Internal Medicine programs, following which she became certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine and a Diplomate in Endocrinology, Diabetes and metabolism.She joined Beth Israel Medical Center and the Albert Einstein Faculty in 2003 where she practiced and actively participated in the teaching of residents and fellows until 2016. During her career at Beth Israel, she conducted several clinical trials in diabetes and heart disease and diabetes and obesity. She also had a busy clinic for thyroid cancer at New York Eye and Ear, treating for 11 years over 400 patients. Dr Saliby joined the Weill Cornell faculty and New York Presbyterian Hospitals in July 2016. She serves as the Director of the Endocrinology Services at the Lower Manhattan Campus and sees patients in both the Lower Manhattan and the Upper East Side offices.Her interests remain in thyroid disease and thyroid cancer in particular, as well as in Diabetes and Metabolic diseases.
