After doing biomedical research in industry and academia, he then pursued graduate studies in cancer genomics at the University of California, San Francisco, where he earned his PhD in 2010. Seeking to become a physician-scientist, he then earned his medical degree (MD) from the University of Minnesota in 2014. In 2023, he joined the Bone Marrow Transplant Service at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he continues to both treat patients with cellular therapies and conduct research to develop new cell therapies for solid tumors.
