ColumbiaDoctors Medical Group physicians are faculty members at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and actively participate in advanced research, in an effort to offer patients with complex illnesses access to therapies not readily available elsewhere. Some of the current cardiology protocols include: non-surgical treatments for valvular disease, new treatments for atrial fibrillation, methods to avoid use of blood thinners, as well as modalities to treat blood pressure with less medication. The physicians at ColumbiaDoctors Medical Group practice in several Westchester County locations include Hawthorne, White Plains, Eastchester, Hartsdale, Mount Vernon, Scarsdale, and Somers. Orange County locations include Goshen and Port Jervis New York. Dr. Maxwell M. Chait completed his MD degree from the University of California School of Medicine at San Francisco. He is a Fellow of several prestigious organizations, including the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is a practicing gastroenterologist and assistant professor of medicine Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His practice interests include gastroenterology, gastrointestinal endoscopy and internal medicine. He has authored numerous publications in reputed journals. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Liver Disease and Transplantation and serves on the editorial board of of several international journals including the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Anne Ferris is the medical director of the Center for Single Ventricle care at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital, which she co-founded in 2014. She is also medical director of the cardiology/neurology inpatient unit at the hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University in the division of Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Ferris received her medical degree from St. Johns Medical College in Bangalore, India, did her residency and chief residency in pediatrics at New York Medical College, and stayed on as a faculty member at Columbia after completing her fellowship in pediatric cardiology.During the course of her career Dr. Ferris has volunteered extensively, including at Mother Theresas Orphanage, teaching Braille at the Blind School, and working with Afghan refugees under the aegis of the United Nations High Commission for Refugee Relief. She has been on international disaster medical response teams to countries in South Asia and has worked and lived with tribal and primitive societies for several years in rural India.Dr. Ferris has won several awards for excellence in teaching. As chief resident she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, signifying a lasting commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service. The department of nursing at NewYork-Presbyterian recently honored her with the physician of the year award in acknowledgement of her commitment to providing a collaborative, collegial environment that supports the highest standards of patient care.

Dr. Michael Monaco is a board certified pediatric cardiologist. He received his bachelor of arts in biology at Siena College in New York and was elected to the Alpha Kappa Alpha honor society. He was also a four year starter on the lacrosse team. He was awarded his medical degree from Albany Medical College where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Monaco completed his residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Childrens Hospital including a year as Chief Resident. He went on to complete his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital in New York, where he was Chief Fellow.As assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Columbia University Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian, Dr. Monaco has mentored many medical students, residents and cardiology fellows. His practice is dedicated to non-invasiove cardiac imaging, fetal cardiology and the care of children with congenital heart disease. His other specialties include transesophageal echocardiography, exercise cardiology and 3D imaging.Dr. Monaco has authored several academic articles and delivered various lectures and presentations in the area and around the country.
