Reading International is engaged in the development, ownership and operation of multiplex cinemas in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. It is also engaged in the development, ownership and operation of cinema-based, entertainment-themed retail centers in Australia and New Zealand, and commercial real estate in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. The company has interests in nearly 50 cinemas consisting of more than 300 screens. The company owns the fee interest in four of its Australian cinemas, in four of its wholly owned New Zealand cinemas and in two of its New Zealand joint venture cinemas. Its non-cinema real estate holdings include nearly 350,000 square feet of developed retail, office and live theater space in Australia, New Zealand and the United States, and over 2 million square feet of land held for development. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the company is publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RDI.
