The Environmental Protection Agency, also known as EPA, employs more than 17,000 people throughout the United States. The agency maintains over five regional offices and nearly 10 laboratories. It works to protect the human health and environment through research- and education-based services. Established in 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency is administered by the government of the United States.
