Ulster Budokai
Ulster Budokai, established in 1976 by Sensei Mark Roosa, is a dojo in Kingston, NY that specializes in teaching traditional Kodokan Judo to individuals of various ages and abilities. With a focus on inclusivity, the instructors, including Chief Instructor Bill Scribner and Assistant Instructors Lev Kalyuzhny and Wayne Olson, volunteer their time to provide quality Judo training at an affordable rate.
The classes at Ulster Budokai cater to both competitive and non-competitive practitioners, offering instruction in randori, self-defense, and kata. Additionally, the dojo provides opportunities for competition training, led by experienced local, state, and national competitors. Advancement in rank is facilitated through affiliations with the Hudson Judo Yudanshakai and the United States Judo Federation (USJF).
