Tuscarora Town

The Town of Rathbone, located in the scenic Canisteo River Valley between Addison and Cameron, was established on March 28, 1856, from portions of the towns of Addison, Cameron, and Woodhull. Named after General Ransom Rathbone, who settled in the area in 1842, the town's first officers were elected shortly after its formation, contributing to its rich historical narrative.

Home to a population of 1,080 as of the 2000 census, Rathbone is part of the Addison School District and features local businesses including Crawford's Store and Heartwood Furniture Specialties. The community also houses the Cameron Mills Post Office, serving as a hub for residents and taxpayers.
