Turtle Contracting

History

I started my own construction company at the age of 24. I owned and operated Mid Island Home Improvements from 1983 until 2002; after which I decided to accept a management position at a large commercial construction company. In 2005, after only a few years in management, I realized I was unable to shake the desire to build, so I started a new company, Turtle Contracting Corp. Turtle was first licensed in Nassau County; expanding only through referrals, we found our way to Suffolk County in 2006. Then, as some of our clients had second homes in Manhattan while others had friends in Queens and Brooklyn, it was only natural to seek a license for the five boroughs of New York City, which was first issued in 2007. Someone once asked a client to describe Turtle Contracting Corp in one word.
