The Perlman Music Program (PMP), founded by Toby Perlman in 1994, provides exceptional musical training for gifted young string players under the guidance of a world-class faculty led by renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman. With a focus on fostering a supportive and nurturing community, PMP aims to develop the future leaders of classical music while ensuring that talented musicians can access its programs regardless of financial circumstances.
Located on Shelter Island, PMP hosts a variety of programs including the Summer Music School and Chamber Music Workshop, and also conducts events in New York City and beyond, such as intimate recitals and a charity wine auction. The program extends its mission through Travel Residencies, creating meaningful connections between faculty, students, and audiences in various locations, including Sarasota and Tel Aviv.
