History
The NY Center for Divorce & Family Mediation grew out of Kate's experience running groups for the JCC & the JBFCS for newly separated and divorced men and women in the late 1990s. Kate was disturbed by how many families were destroyed in expensive, prolonged, adversarial litigations. Determined that there must be a better way, Kate became actively involved in Divorce Mediation and Collaborative Divorce Associations (See Kate's biography for a full list of her training experience and professional associations). In 2006 Kate founded the New York Center for Divorce & Family Mediation. Kate uses her network of legal and financial professionals to provide her clients with comprehensive services throughout their separations and divorces. After divorce, as a trained psychoanalyst and divorce mediator, Kate guides couples in expanding their parenting plans to meet the growing, developmental needs of their children.
