Nice neighborhood bar atmosphere. Little noisy when crowded, but tacos and pretzels were excellent.

The Horses Lounge, affectionately known as 'The Horses Ass' or 'The Horses Lounge,' has been a cherished establishment in Schenectady since 1976 when Fred & Gladys Fritzen first opened its doors. This local favorite attracts residents seeking delectable food, delightful drinks, and the warm camaraderie of their community.
Under the management of Fred's son, Christian Fritzen, who took over in 2014, the lounge underwent a complete renovation, introducing an expanded menu spotlighting unique and locally sourced offerings. Notably, The Horses has garnered numerous accolades, particularly for their renowned chicken wings.
In 2024, the Nicchi family, proprietors of The Broken Inn and The Comedy Works, acquired The Horses. They enhanced the ambiance by introducing an outdoor seating area and launched a philanthropic initiative dubbed #RespectSchenect, wherein a portion of all cash sales is reinvested back into the local community.
