SpecialtiesBook Nook is a private four year early literacy enrichment program for children ages 1 1/2 to 5 years old. There are four developmental groups; Lil' Hoots (1 1/2 - 2 1/2 yr.), Kiddie Hoots (2 1/2 - 3 1/2 yr.), Pre Hoots (3 1/2 - 4 yr.) and Kinder Hoots (4 -5 yr.). The curriculum for each group includes age appropriate skill development ultimately leading to reading and writing by age 6. Each class is taught in an age appropriate, small group of 4-5 children. Our classes are built with age in mind. All children are grouped within 6 months of each other which allows us to teach a very tailored curriculum. At Book Nook, we incorporate skills needed for kindergarten readiness and future success. Many of the skills that are tested on the standardize exams are skills that are taught through everyday learning. We incorporate those skills throughout our literacy curriculum. Skill building and math concepts are among some of our learning core curriculum. We want to allow children to gradually grow and learn at their own pace. We provide them with the right tools, the opportunity to build their confidence and a home-like atmosphere.
