The Barrow Group believes stories have the power to transform lives for the better - by helping people connect with their humanity through a greater understanding of oneself, others, and the world. In our 13,000 square foot arts center in midtown Manhattan, we provide a supportive, inspiring home for artists and audiences hungry to create and experience stories that are spontaneously/authentically told and socially/politically/spiritually relevant. Each year, we enrich and empower thousands of people though a season of affordably-priced theatrical productions, dozens of developmental readings and community events, and hundreds of performing arts classes (in acting, directing, playwriting, film, beginner) for youth and adults. We've won a Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award. CBS News and Time Out NY have named us one of the top places to study performing arts in New York City. Our past company members and alumni have won Academy, Emmy, Tony, OBIE, and Lucille Lortel Awards.
